Pickens County is located approximately 60 miles north of Atlanta. It is nestled at the foot of the Appalachian Mountains and is located about 20
miles south of Gilmer County. We are home to the Georgia Marble Festival
which is held annually, the first weekend in October.
We are a rural community with outstanding opportunities for the young and old. Our most famous resource is marble, but other economic trades include the timber industry, manufacturing producing companies, poultry, cattle and horse farms.Whether you want to play a round of mountainside golf, fish in the our beautiful lakes and ponds, slide down a rock waterslide, take a horseback ride, or simply sit on your deck and watch the sunset, you'll find many ways to relax and get lost in the magic of our county. Our people, the natural beauty of our land, and an easy commute to Atlanta make Pickens County a very desirable place to call home. We invite you to visit my hometown. Above, my granddaughter and I are walking along Main Street to the water fountain park located where my grandmother, Julia Burton, once had a Band Box Fashion Shop.If you are interested in visiting our county and are considering purchasing a second home or a permanent home, we would appreciate the opportunity to work with you.Cathy Vandiver, Associate Broker,
