Area Attractions Blue Ridge Scenic Highway Burt's Pumpkin Farm Carters Lake, Ellijay, Georgia One of our favorite getaway retreats is Carters Lake.  It's takes us about 20 minutes from  Ellijay and it's a great place to boat, fish, kayak, ski, and camp.   In this picture, Tom and I are in our TomCat I.         Gennett Popular, Ellijay, Georgia  My sister Carol, her son Tyler, Tom and I recently hiked to the "Gennett Popular", one of Ellijay's hidden treasures.  Carol and I continued on the hiking trails, while Tom and Tyler did some mountain biking.   The Popular is located in the Chattahoochee National Forest and measures 18' in circumference, and for anyone wanting a short hike in the mountains, it's a wonderful landmark to see.  There's also longer hiking trails, mountain biking trails, and a camping area.    Gilmer Golf & Games Hillcrest Orchards Kangaroo Center Fort Mountain State Park     The Len Foote Inn, Dawsonville, Georgia Ocoee Adventure Center Prater's Mill Swan-Drive-in Wildlife Rehabilitation Sanctuary
